MTech & PhD Students

SAAIL Lab supervises MTech and co-supervised PhD students in AI for agriculture, healthcare AI, and responsible AI. Current openings are listed on the SAAIL Lab site.

Research Collaboration

Open to collaborations with researchers and institutions working on AI for sustainable development, particularly in East Africa. I value collaborations grounded in real deployment, not just benchmark results.

Industry & NGO Partnerships

Interested in partnerships that bring AI research into real agricultural and healthcare deployments across East Africa — pilot studies, applied research, and technology transfer.

What makes a good first email

  • Say clearly what you're asking for (supervision, collaboration, a specific opportunity) in the first sentence.
  • Attach your CV, and if relevant, a short (half-page) statement of research interest.
  • Explain briefly why this specific lab/research area, not a generic mass email.
  • If you're asking about a specific paper or project, name it directly.
